Chef de Cuisine Description The Stray Dog Bar and Grill is looking for an admirable Chef de Cuisine with experience inspiring and leading teams in a high-volume environment. The Chef de Cuisine will be responsible for introducing new menu items and changes, hiring and training kitchen staff, collaborating with all restaurant management, optimizing staff productivity and stepping in to help wherever needed. Chef de Cuisine Primary Focus Oversee, monitor and ensure effective and efficient BOH operations including monitoring and ensuing consistent purchasing standards and inventory, and tracking/controlling food costs Provide guidance and leadership to kitchen managers and hourly employees Coordinating kitchen staff and assisting them as required Research, develop and execute seasonal menus and new menu items as directed in partnership with owners, directors and management teams Create new and maintain existing recipe costing in partnership with management teams Ensuring all food meets the highest quality standards and is served on time Hiring and training staff to prepare, cook and plate all menu items Completing regular food and product inventories and placing orders as needed Enforcing best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen Creating new recipes to regularly update the menu Keep track of current trends in the industry Incorporate feedback from the restaurant staff and patrons to make improvements or resolve issues Chef de Cuisine Requirements Qualification from culinary school 3+ years of experience in a similar position In-depth knowledge of food principles and best practices Passion for creating incredible food that delights and attracts guests Excellent communication skills and leadership qualities Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment Creative, innovative thinking Exceptional standards for cleanliness, health and safety Experience managing inventories Available to work a variety of shifts including after hours, over weekends and holidays Authorization, Certification and At-Will Employment Agreement I certify that I have personally completed this application.
