As a Grief Counsellor, you will be an integral part of a collaborative, inter-disciplinary team focused on delivering seamless services and programs to our clients and patients. What you'll be doing: Provide individual and group counseling sessions to clients, focusing on their unique grief, loss and bereavement experiences Educate clients about the grieving process and conduct comprehensive backssments to understand the specific grief-related issues affecting clients Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities to support clients in processing their grief, managing emotions and adapting to life changes Offer emotional and psychological support, empowering clients to cope with loss and develop resilience Encourage open communication and active participation in the therapeutic process Document on patient's chart(s) according to Homewood documentation and college standards Ensure cultural practices, programs and service delivery support patients' mental, physical, emotional and spiritual well-being Provide short-term, highly focused, solution-oriented counselling to address a variety of concerns such as grief, depression, anxiety, interpersonal skills, relationship issues, stress management and addiction Plan and lead hospital wide self-reflection and meditation services Engage in clinical consultation with the clinical team to support development of comprehensive treatment plans for patients Stay informed about the latest research, best practices and therapeutic approaches related to grief counseling Uphold and adhere to ethical.
