As the home of the world's first transvenous pacemaker system, Montefiore remains at the forefront of Cardiovascular Medicine. The Cardiology Division have received significant research funding from the National Institutes of Health to study the genetics of heart disease and the molecular biology of cardiac muscle, the causes of heart failure and the most innovative techniques for pacing and ablation. We have one of the most active heart failure cardiac transplant programs in the US and are one of the leaders in innovation in complex arrythmia management and structural heart disease. We continuously seek out minimally invasive solutions for complex conditions to help ensure the quickest recovery possible. Through our innovative procedures and treatments, the Heart and Vascular Center pushes the boundaries of current research and continues to redefine the field of cardiology. Most importantly we serve one of the most vibrant and ethnically diverse community of patients in the Bronx, extending our reach to Westchester County, Rockland County and the Upper Manhattan region. Led by Dr. Mario J Garcia, MD, the Division of Cardiology is seeking Board Certified Cardiologist with advanced training in Cardiac Imaging to join our collegial team. The incoming candidate should have exceptional clinical skills and demonstrated proficiency in Echocardiography. Training and expertise in Cardiac CT, CMR and/or Nuclear Cardiology are also desired but not essential qualifications. The Division of Cardiology is intimately involved in translational and population research and in several clinical trials that involve Cardiac Imaging. Special interest in clinical and/or translational research and teaching are important qualifications being sought from candidates applying for this position.
