Position Description Title: Business Intelligence Analysis Department: IT Immediate Supervisor: Director, Business Intelligence Status: Exempt Position Purpose: This is a technical role designing and developing queries, procedures, data marts, reports and visualizations to provide analytical support to all functional areas of an extremely dynamic multi-national manufacturing corporation. The Senior BI Developer works with technical and non-technical business partners to evaluate reporting and analytics requests, perform gap analysis and design comprehensive data solutions to advance the vision and competitive advantage of the company. Principle Accountabilities •Work with users to understand business processes, gather and document project BI requirements and translate them into functional specifications for BI reports and applications•Design and develop data-driven solutions to fulfill the requirements gathered•Thoroughly test solutions to ensure functionality and integrity•Engage with subject-matter-experts to design and produce analyses that further the objectives of the company, and support BI power users with self-service reporting•Create ad-hoc queries and reports as requested and provide on-going analytical support for these requests•Identify data quality issues and support enterprise data governance•Provide second-tier support to the IT Support Center to assist in problem resolution as requiredTechnical Requirements•Expertise in programming complex T-SQL queries, data processes and stored procedures using Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio. Azure Data Studio a plus•Experience designing and developing Business Intelligence solutions in accordance with established agile methodologies and development standards (Tibco WebFOCUS / Microsoft Power BI / Tableau)•Ability to design, develop and implement solutions from top to bottom - from data capture, modelling, metadata development and user interface delivery•Strong analytical ability. Ability to collect information, evaluate alternative solutions, and seek different perspectives and ideas from others•Conceptual understanding of RDBMS design, data mart design and advanced data warehousing concepts•Excellent MS Office / Excel skills Other Requirements •Ability to work directly with internal users at a variety of technical skill levels to define requirements and translate to a technical plan•Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously•Independent problem resolution and code debugging skills•Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to project professionalism, cooperate and share knowledge, information, and expertise with others.
