To fulfill Christ's mission, the principal employs suitable, chosen collaborators. The principal shares with them Christ's mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them. Positions employed in the school help to extend the ministry of the principal in particular ways as outlined in the job description. Therefore, the employee in this position is closely connected to and assists the principal in the performance of the principal's ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the Church. Job Description Holy Trinity Catholic High School in Temple, TX is a is looking for a Bus Driver to manage the transportation needs for the school. This includes driving the main school bus each day to transport students to-and-from school on the daily bus route and driving the bus for field trips and extracurricular events like athletics. The daily bus route is made up of 4 stops in addition to the school itself and runs approximately from 5:15am to 8:15 am and 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm. Extra driving assignments available, including field trips and athletics. This position is currently an hourly position but may become a salaried position with the addition of other duties. Some evening and/or weekends are required as needed based on driving needs for extracurricular activities. Duties: Operates main school vehicle for the daily bus route in a safe and efficient manner-being attentive to traffic and weather conditions while staying on schedule and ensuring the safety of passengers. Follows all traffic laws and complies with Federal and Texas motor vehicle regulations. Drives all routes exactly as designated in writing. Responsible for maintaining a safe environment within the bus by enforcing rules of conduct and responding to emergencies. Responsible for maintaining internal school vehicle requests, including for field trips and athletic events. Maintains daily travel logs including the amount of fuel used and miles driven per vehicle, which is turned in weekly to the Business Director. In accordance with state and local regulations, plans and administers an efficient vehicle maintenance program which ensures all school vehicles are mechanically safe and sound to operate. Works within the transportation budget to maintain vehicles and make recommendations for repairs and maintenance. Coordinates with the principal and other administrative staff in the planning of school bus routes and the dissemination of bus route information. Coordinates with the Division of Motor Vehicle the filing of records and reports on TX Motor Vehicle Safety and Emissions inspections performed by the Texas Department of Transportation. Monitors weather and road conditions. Makes recommendations directly to the Principal for closing or delaying as appropriate. Transportation Director reports directly to the principal. Minimum Qualifications: Must be at least 25 years of age. Must have High School Diploma or equivalent Applicant must be certified as per the following: a valid State of Texas issued driver's license AND a valid State of Texas commercial driver's license (CDL). Must be an insured driver. This position requires understanding of Texas motor vehicle laws. Minimum 2 years experience driving a school bus. Applicant must be able to read and write in English. Applicant must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with school officials. Applicant must foster an environment of cooperation and respect with the students. A motor vehicle record check and a criminal background check will be performed. Certifications and Training: Must submit an Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) Application for Ministry within the first week of employment, participate in an EIM Basic abuse prevention training workshop within 60 days of submitting a complete Application for Ministry, and maintain EIM compliance during the entire term of employment.
