Hillsborough County School District is seeking qualified applicants for the following position: Building Construction Technology Teacher Location: Bldg Const Acad Bowers/Whitley Position Summary: The Secondary Career and Technical Education (CTE) Teacher (grades 6-12) is responsible for the instruction of designated CTE content area(s)/course(s) in a classroom setting within a secondary school (grades 6-12). Qualifications: Education: A bachelor's degree or District Certificate is required. Degree or formal training in the content area is preferred. When applicable, industry certification or state license is required. Certificates/Licenses/Registrations: Florida Professional Educator Certificate preferred or eligibility for district certificate required, including one of the following: Related bachelor’s degree. Related AA/AS degree with one (1) year related experience. One (1) year of technical training with two (2) years of verifiable experience. Three (3) years of in-field verified work experience. Language Skills: Reads, analyzes, and interprets all kinds of documents. Responds to inquiries or complaints from employees, regulatory agencies, or the community. Writes speeches and effectively presents them to managers, the public, and the school board. Mathematical Skills: Works with math concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry. Applies concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability: Solves practical problems and deals with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
