ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS:- Actively participates in maintaining the overall cleanliness of the Banquet Department, such as vacuum cleaning of carpets etc.- Expertise to adhere to Peabody grooming standards.- Maintains banquet storage areas clean and organized, as well as banquet equipment.- Understands the responsibilities of other departments and cooperates with them in the absence of the head houseperson.- Expertise to move freely within the entire hotel.- Performs other duties as specified.- Expertise to uphold and exemplify Peabody Service Excellence® Job responsibilities- Assists guests in every possible way when special requests occur.- Expertise to properly maintain and properly operate equipment.- Expertise to constantly lift and move approx 100 lbs, including setting and storing in overhead areas.- Expertise to hear guest voices through a closed door.- Expertise to telephone set up status to Banquet set up office.- Sets up, breaks down and stores banquet furniture and equipment.- Advances his/her knowledge and abilities and shares them with others.- Checks meeting rooms during breaks for clean tablecloths, water, pencils, pads etc.- Expertise to read or understand diagrams and counts.- Expertise to push and/or pull a cart weighing approx 300lbs, including up and down inclines.- Expertise to perform tasks requiring sustained repetitive motion and/or fine motor skills.- Expertise to communicate with guests and be able to direct/escort them to the various facilities and functions within the hotel.- Expertise to operate and control equipment, (i.e. pallet jack, radio, pager, vacuum cleaner, shampoo machines).- Promotes the Peabody Service Excellence program among all associates and departments.- Notifies supervisor of any maintenance/repair requests and material qualifications.- Attends regular meetings scheduled by the head houseperson to discuss function arrangements.- Expertise to carry out all safety and emergency procedures (i.e. fire, crowd control, inclement weather and bomb threats).- Expertise to work with chemicals (i.e. brass polish, shampoo, cleansers).- Expertise to stand and walk on a continuous basis, and run as warranted.- Expertise to maintain regular and punctual attendance.- Expertise to work in temperature extremes.- Picks up clean linen from laundry, delivers soiled linen to laundry.- Expertise to bend, squat, kneel, climb and reach on a daily basis.- Expertise to interact with guests and other associates in a courteous, empathetic and discreet manner.EducationHigh-school certificate or equivalentTravel0
