Title: Behavioral Health Program Director/AVP - Dominion HospitalLocation: United States-Virginia-Falls Church-Dominion Hospital - Falls ChurchOther Locations: nullThe Assistant Vice President of Clinical Services assists with the provision of the leadership and strategic planning of clinical services and programs offered at Dominion Hospital, ensuring programs meet the needs of the community and the facility's performance goals and objectives. The Assistant Vice President administers and evaluates the effectiveness of psychological services to patients, including the study and treatment of mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. Oversees testing and counseling services to patients with psychological disorders. Coordinates overall administration and management of psychiatric therapeutic programs. Provides, directs, supports and guides staff who provide direct therapeutic care to patients. Plans and implements program-specific policies and procedures, and coordinates activities and issues with physicians, allied clinicians and other professionals.JOB FUNCTIONS· Assists with planning, developing and implementing formal and organized clinical services programs as part of the therapeutic environment. · Develops and organizes programs of clinical services based on specialized consumer populations. · Implements new clinical techniques, and provides direction to staff and facility personnel.· Assists in ensuring programs adhere to standards of care for specific age groups served.· Builds effective team and identifies optimal staffing levels necessary to effectively conduct the business of the department.· Creates effective work plans; identifies the appropriate resources and processes; sets priorities; delegates authority and meets deadlines.· Effective time management and communication (oral and written) skills· Demonstrated knowledge of clinical and age appropriate behaviors, crisis intervention procedures, variety of therapeutic techniques, trauma informed care, clinical assessment skills, setting appropriate limits with clients to effectively ensure safety/structure in milieu· Demonstrated knowledge of key business development concepts, methodology and strategic planning· Demonstrated knowledge and expertise around customer service skills· Expertise to work as a team member· Tolerance and expertise to perform under ambiguity, uncertainty and change· Demonstrated expertise to use good judgment and maintain confidentiality of info· Expertise to provide FTE management and adhere to other budgetary goals and guidelines· Demonstrates strategic vision with sound computer skills and analytical expertise· Demonstrated expertise to generate, interpret and communicate data from statistical reports· Expertise to coordinate several ongoing project tasks· Creates an atmosphere in which info flows smoothly between self and others; encourages open expression of ideas and opinions.· Conveys info clearly and in a timely manner; prepares concise written reports; makes effective presentations.REQUIREMENTSEducation: Master's Degree in a health care related position is required. Licensure: Current licensure as appropriate. Other relevant credentials may be accepted at the discretion of the CEO and Director of Human Resources,Certifications: CPI non-violent crisis intervention certification required as a part of orientation.Registrations: N/ABackground: A min of 5 (5) years background in a behavioral health setting is required, with a min of 3 (3) years background in advanced clinical/management practice is required. A min of 2 (2) years supervisory background is required.Administrative Skills: Excellent oral/written correspondence , interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills required.Other Skills: Basic computer knowledge required.
