JOB SCOPE An electronics technician to support ALS Production Optimization products, systems design, installation, service, maintenance both in the field and in the office. The job will include all aspects of SCADA systems as applied to oil and gas production to include instrumentation, controls, communications, and application software. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Support SCADA, automation, & communications equipment installed in the field Telephone support for field and customer personnel in troubleshooting problems and application challenges Manage the acquisition of systems components required for system sales and field installations. Develop vendor relationships. Develop and maintain component part numbers in Weatherford system Stage system components prior to field installation to include sub assembly, equipment configuration/programming, system calibration, panel fabrication/wiring Manage, coordinate, and assist with field installation, maintenance, and ongoing support Assist with proposal development Technical training of Weatherford and customer personnel on the product use and application Create and maintain installation documentation SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE Preferred * Oil & gas production operations and equipment background * SCADA system background * Technical writing * Good mechanical aptitude MIN REQUIREMENTS Essential * 0-2 yrs of related electronic systems background * Working expertise of software such as Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft word, Ms excel, Power Point, and Access * Personal computer support skills to include software installation Preferred * Formal electronics technician training * Associates degree or equivalent in electronics technology * Previous background in field sales and services ANY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Essential * The physical expertise to immediately respond to emergency situations. * Available to travel to customer locations with little or no advanced notice.
