Position Summary: A local fast growing Biotech company is to looking for an Associate Scientist to join the multidisciplinary research group. As a member of the Research Analytical Development Team you will be working a cross-functional team to understand and improve the performance of our core analytical characterization technologies, some of which include: SDS-PAGE, Western-blotting, colorimetric plate based assays including BCA and ELISA, as well as more advanced techniques including: SEC-HPLC-UV-MALS, RP-HPLC, DSF, and CE-IEF. Core work will be to test and develop methods in support of pipeline products to facilitate transfer to development as well as CRO’s/CMO’s with a particular focus on immunological assays. For this role the successful candidate will be focused on the development and execution of cell based and antibody based immunological methods appropriate to the scale, number-of-samples, and required purity level for the given project, and will implement appropriate assays to characterize product and to better understand the technology and process. In addition, the successful candidate will be required to interface with external collaborators, set-up and run team meetings, make presentations to outside collaborators and senior management, and to author internal and external publications. Essential Functions: Protein production, purification, and analysis. Ideal candidate will have a strong theoretical understanding of various analytical chemistry methodology principles and successful track record of end-to-end delivery to meet the analytical challenges, from analytical technology selection and method development to transfer and validation. They will also have some hands-on experience with modern analytical instrumentations commonly used in the analysis and characterization of biologics, carbohydrates, conjugates, and small molecule drug candidates. Versatility and adaptability are key traits, as tasks will involve multiple different protein types, scales and purities. Requirements: • Ph.D. with 1-2+ years industry experience, M.S. with 4+ years industry experience, or B.S. with 7+ years industry experience. • The ideal candidate will come with hands-on experience implementing and developing cell based and antibody-based immunology assays, with the perfect candidate being well-versed with the ELISA technique. • Experience with viral neutralization assays highly desired. • The ideal candidate will also have basic proficiency with common protein analytical techniques including SDS-PAGE, and Western blotting, etc. • Demonstrated success working in a cross-functional team environment on multiple projects."
