The Associate Nurse Manager reports to the Director of Care and is responsible for the overall provision of care and services to residents, coordination of the quality management program and acts as a resource and coach to staff in various clinical areas as outlined in the position summary. In conjunction with the Nurse Manager, Director of Care and Staff Development Coordinator, ensures compliance with legislative requirements (MOLTC and CNO) and acts as a coach to the nursing staff to ensure best practices are followed. Responsibilities: Provides direction to the nursing team in all aspects of resident care, and takes on the role of “In Charge” in the absence of DOC, Executive Director, and/or Nurse Manager. Supervises and monitors staff performance and resident routines and activities. Conducts Employee Performance Reviews Assists with the recruitment, retention and termination of nursing employees Conducts performance management for nursing employees Adheres to all relevant legislation Adheres to the collective agreement Conducts an in-depth investigation as required Monitors supply budgets to ensure that these are being effectively managed Participates in the Quality Improvement Plan and progress report Assists with the evaluation of all resident program and services for relevance, quality, and effectiveness Identifies potential risks Required to understand the nature and meaning of quality indicators Other duties as assigned and or indicated in the Job Task Inventory.
