JOB TITLE: ASSISTANT MANAGER HOURS: 40 hours per week, Monday – Sunday SALARY: £31,000 + Bonus Location: North London MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Always maintain a professional and welcoming approach when dealing with customers Assist in implementation of merchandise and layout to maximise sales, customer satisfaction and bar appearance and image Assist in implementation of bar advertising, promotional strategy and activities Assist in managing costs and overheads, and all factors affecting the profitable performance of the bar Liaise with internal departments e. g. head office and external agencies and authorities e. g. suppliers, advertising, recruitment, training, fire services, police, local council and health and safety inspectors Assist in managing and maintaining effectiveness of IT systems Responding to customer complaints and comments as appropriate Touring the bar regularly, ensuring walkways are kept clear for customer access, talking to colleagues and customers, and identifying and resolving any issues in a timely manner Complete all necessary administration as required Assist in recruitment and selection of employees as required Assist in training and development of new and existing employees Lead by example Ensure effective deployment of staff on shift, delegating tasks as appropriate Ensure all employees are carrying out their duties Ensure all employees understand the importance of excellent customer service, and provide advice to employees as appropriate on the provision of excellent customer service PERSON SPECIFICATIONHands-on bar and waiting experience in a busy hospitality service environment. A proven track record of delivering high standards of service and presentation. Excellent interpersonal skills Highly presentable with a pro-active approach to maintaining excellent customer service Previous experience of managing and training staff in a team leader or supervisor capacity.
